Wesley Taylor sat staring out the window, feeling frustrated. He’d tried to talk to Justin about Randall so many times. Justin thought Wes was just being a snob and in truth, that was part of it. Randall was a bartender and from all reports, not a very good one at that. Justin was one of the heirs of an old established and wealthy family and for someone like Randall, a good catch. Unfortunately for Randall, Wes was the other. Wes hated the life his brother was leading with that jerk. Justin was twenty seven years old not sixteen. He sighed as he signed off on Justin’s expenses for the month. They were excessive as usual but it wasn’t about the money. It was clear to Wes from the beginning, Randall was after everything he could get but Justin was totally smitten with him. Randall was handsome and confident and according to rumor, fabulous in bed. Randall had a reputation for tricking but he explained it away to Justin as rumors started by people who were jealous about the way they felt about each other. Justin was totally blind that Randall was using him. He accepted Randall’s explanations without question.

He'd tried to talk to Justin again this morning, but conversations about Randall always ended up in cross words, today was no exception. Wes and Justin used to be so close and it hurt Wes to see Justin being exploited for his money this way. Randall wasn’t content to spend Justin’s money, now, he had his eye on the rest.

Justin had spent nearly a million dollars in the last two years and Wes knew Randall was responsible. He didn’t expect his brother to live like a pauper, they were fortunate enough to be able to have a good life. But a million dollars in two years, with no assets to show for it, was ridiculous. Wes sighed again. His brother was in love, fuck, what a mess.

Craig Taylor paced around his office, enraged. He was furious with both his sons, Justin for being with that bum and Wes for not stopping it. He hadn’t worked all his life to provide for his family so Justin could fritter away his inheritance on a gold digger. He glanced at the folder on his desk. How could Justin not know that Randall was using him? He was a Taylor, he had good instincts; at least he used to have, before Randall. Craig decided that Wes would continue to pussyfoot around his brother, forever. It was inevitable, Justin would be hurt, but the faster they got it over with, the faster Justin could recover and move on.

His intercom buzzed and Craig asked for his son to come in.

“Hey Dad,” Justin smiled. “You wanted to see me?”

“I wanted your opinion on something,” Craig frowned. He handed Justin the folder. “I think you may need to sit down,” Craig warned.

Justin smiled and sat as he was told then he opened up the file. He gasped and looked at his father in horror. They were pictures of Randall, so many pictures and the date stamps showed they were all recent. Justin felt the contents of his stomach rising up into his throat. He threw the file on the desk and bolted for the bathroom.

Craig called for his other son to join them.

A few minutes later, Wes strolled in. He'd decided to put Justin and Randall out of his mind again for another month. Justin was happy, that’s all that mattered; he told himself. “What’s up?” he smiled.

“Justin is in the bathroom, he may want to talk with you,” Craig frowned.

“Why? I just saw him, he’s fine,” Wes smiled.

Craig handed his son the file.

Wes looked at it and gasped. “Dad, you didn’t?”

“I’ve been asking you to handle this for almost two years, so, I decided to handle it myself. It’s for his own good,” Craig scowled.

“How can this be ‘for his own good’? You know Justin loves him. Dad, how could you do that to him?” Wes sighed. He walked to the bathroom and knocked before entering. When he opened the door, he found Justin kneeling over the toilet, dry reaching. Wes sat on the floor next to his brother and rubbed his back.

Justin’s face was swollen from crying and his nose was running. He turned and glared at his brother. “Did you know?”

Wes sighed. “Yeah, I knew.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Justin sobbed.

“Why do you think?” Wes sighed. “I’m sorry, Jus.”

“Why would he do this to me, Wes? I love him so much, I always gave him anything he wanted,” Justin sobbed again.

Wes wiped Justin’s face and the front of his shirt. “That was the trouble Jus,” he sighed. “Dad shouldn’t have shocked you like this. I’m so sorry.”

“Does everyone know except me?” Justin stammered.

“Just about, I think Randall has slept with everyone except me, Dad and Mom.”

“When? We’re together all the time. I don’t understand how this could be happening,” Justin cried.

“Do you want more proof?” Wes said sadly.

Justin nodded. “There has to be some sort of mistake.”

“Come on,” Wes grabbed his hand.

They ignored Craig’s demands for them both to sit down and discuss the matter and left him puffing and blowing. Wes drove back to Justin’s apartment. “You are supposed to be at the art gallery with Mom this afternoon, right?”

Justin nodded and wiped his eyes again.

“What time is Randall expecting you?”

“Not till late. Why are we here, Randall is at work.”

Wes rolled his eyes.

They went upstairs and Justin opened the door. There were clothes strewn all over the hall. They followed the trail to Justin’s bedroom and as they stood outside the door, Wes turned to Justin and said. “You’re sure?”

Justin was feeling sick again. He could hear the sounds on the other side of the door. Justin took a deep breath and opened the door. He stood in the doorway with his mouth open. Randall was on his back, fucking one guy and blowing another.

They stood watching for nearly five minutes before Randall noticed them. He spat the cock in his mouth out and pushed the guy he was inside, off him. “Jus, it isn’t what you think,” he stammered.

“You tell me what it is then?” Justin yelled. “It looks like you are fucking two guys in our bed but you tell me what it really is?”

Randall glared at Wes. “This is your fault.” He turned and yelled at Justin. “Your family hates me.”

“And that made you bring two guys into our home and fuck them,” Justin gasped. “I didn’t care if you wanted to trick. You were the one who said you didn’t want anyone else. Was it all lies, Randall?

Randall stood in silence.

“You have twenty four hours to pack your things and get out. I never want to see you again,” Justin yelled. He looked at the other two men in his bed. “And take them with you.” He closed his fist and punched Randall in the face. “Don’t ever come near me again,” Justin growled.

Randall careered back and landed on the bed with his two tricks. He couldn’t believe it, Justin had hit him.

Justin looked at Wes. “Let’s go.”

As they closed the front door, Justin sighed. “Sell everything; I don’t want to come back here. I’m moving back to the house.”

“Now isn’t the time to make any decisions,” Wes started.

“I’m moving back to the house,” Justin said quietly. "Let's go back, I want to talk to Dad.”

Wes nodded and drove Justin back to the office. Craig’s secretary, Anne, was sitting at her desk crying. She looked up and when she saw Wes and Justin, she cried harder.

Wes ran to her “Anne, what’s wrong?”

She tried to speak but her words were masked by the tears. The door opened and the paramedics wheeled out a trolley.

Anne jumped to her feet. “These are Mr. Taylor’s sons,” she sobbed.

One of the paramedics looked at them. “I’m sorry; there was nothing we could do. He didn’t suffer. We will need you to come with us to the morgue.”

Wes went with them and Justin stayed behind. He went into his father’s office and saw the file with the pictures of Randall, in the middle of the floor. His father must have been looking at it when he collapsed. Justin dropped to his knees and wept. “Dad, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.”

Wesley couldn’t believe it had been a year since their father died. The time had gone slow and fast, it depended on the day. He’d packed his mother off on a cruise to keep her mind on something else. She was coping but she missed her husband terribly. They all missed him but Wes was sure that Justin missed him the most. A year had gone past and Justin still blamed himself for their father’s death. Their father had been found in the middle of the floor and he was reading Randall’s file when he died.

Justin felt so responsible that he refused to even date. He threw himself into the business, kept to himself and swore that he would never love anyone ever again.

Wes didn’t want Justin to be alone and he certainly wanted his brother to be happy but Justin was determined to never be taken advantage of again. Wes tried to tell him that loving someone and being taken advantage of were entirely different but Justin wouldn’t listen.

“I’ll always be rich so I’ll always be a target,” Justin shrugged. “Let it go, Wes, I have to go back to work.”

That was now Justin’s stock standard answer when Wes tried to convince him to date. Wes was tired of fighting with his brother; he only wanted him to be happy but it looked like that was never going to happen.

The intercom sounded. “It’s Mr. Kinney, he says he’ll be late for lunch, he lost track of time.”

“Thanks Anne,” Wes sighed. Brian was another one; so sure he’d never love again. It was ironic really. Justin wouldn’t love again because his memories were so bad and Brian wouldn’t love again because his memories were so good. Their situations were the very reason both of them needed to love again. Wes sighed. He wondered how long Brian was going to be. Ever since Patrick died, Brian always lost track of time. He started something else while he waited.

An hour later, his cell rang. “I’m downstairs, are you still okay for lunch?” Brian asked.

“I’m coming down now.” Wes hurried downstairs. “Hello George,” he smiled at the chauffeur.

“Always a pleasure to see you, Mr. Taylor,” George tipped his hat.

Wes jumped in the car and glared at Brian. “What happened?”

Brian sighed. “I dunno, can’t concentrate I guess.”

“Brian, it’s been eighteen months,” he smiled at his friend.

“I know. It seemed easier before. When Patrick found out he was sick, we did everything we wanted to do. I have no regrets and I would never trade our time together. He was the sun and moon and the stars for me and I was all that to him. When he died, I felt like half of me was missing but Patrick made me promise I would go on and my life wouldn’t end when his did. I’ve kept that promise to him, Wes, but lately….. It isn’t about being lonely, it’s about everything else,” Brian sighed.

“You need to get ‘laid’,” Wes laughed.

“I get laid often enough, thank you,” Brian smiled. “It isn’t always about sex.”

“I wish Justin would take that on board,” Wes sighed.

“Still abstaining?” Brian raised one eyebrow and thrust his tongue into his cheek.

Wes rolled his eyes. “Seems so,” Wes sighed. “If I even suggest him hooking up with anyone, he goes into meltdown. Justin is convinced that he will only find men who are after his money. He doesn’t trust anyone enough to even have a conversation,” Wes sighed again.

Brian laughed. “You know, someone out there is worrying about their house being foreclosed on and not being able to feed the kiddies and we are complaining because we have too much.”

“Speak for yourself. I don’t think I have too much and I work damn hard for what I have.” He grinned at Brian. “I think you have too much.”

“That’s a popular opinion,” Brian laughed. “My office is being picketed at the moment because I don’t care about the poor.”

“What poor?”

“I don’t know, I guess anyone poor,” Brian shrugged. “They just have signs and are calling anyone who comes into our offices fascist lovers.”

“You aren’t a fascist, you are a capitalist pig,” Wes laughed.

“I’m so glad you are my friend,” Brian rolled his eyes. “Hey, I got an email from Travis, he’s in Antarctica.”

“What the fuck is he doing there?” Wes gasped.

“Who knows why Travis is anywhere?” Brian laughed. “Are you hungry?”

“I was at one,” Wes laughed. “But at three……not really.”

“Let’s play some racquetball instead?”

“Why not, I’ll enjoy beating you,” Wes smiled.

“You can try,” Brian laughed.

Brian sat panting on the floor of the court.

Wes shook his head. “Now I know something is wrong, spill it,” he ordered. He had never beaten Brian three nil in their lives.

Brian sighed. “I’m tired.”

“Not sleeping?”

“No sleeping all the time and still tired. I’m tired of the work; I’m tired of the money. I’m tired of the headaches and the dramas, just tired.”

“Take a holiday,” Wes suggested.

“I just came back from holiday,” Brian sighed. “Even if I turn my phone off, some reporter will hound me for a comment about something, I can’t do it anymore, Wes. I never get a minute’s peace. I was at a club the other day in Jamaica and I was in the backroom with my cock up some guy’s ass and two reporters wanted me to comment on some fucking bridge we’re building somewhere. The only place I can go is here because they keep the press out. I’m sick of this place and I’m sick of my place. I’m sick of being Brian Kinney.”

“Tell them to fuck off.”

“That will be great for the share price,” Brian rolled his eyes.

“Hide out,” Wes laughed.

“Where?” Brian grumbled.

“I’m going out of town tomorrow for two weeks, my place. Mom’s away and Justin doesn’t know you by sight.” Wes laughed. “Why don’t you pretend to be Travis?”

Brian shook his head and then stopped. Wes was right, if Jennifer was away, Justin didn’t know him. He hadn’t been to Wes’ for years. “Does Jacob still work for you?”

“Yes, but he won’t give you away. I’ll talk to him. You haven’t met any of the other staff and I don’t think they read Fortune on a regular basis. Get some ragged old clothes and dress down, try and look grubby,” Wes laughed.

“I’ll tell Travis you think he’s grubby,” Brian laughed.

“He isn’t the design queen you are. I think Travis shops in thrift shops,” Wes frowned.

“You are a snob, Wes Taylor,” Brian shook his head.

“I have never professed to be anything else,” Wes laughed.

“It’s a nice idea but…..”

“But nothing, you want a place where you can sit by the pool in peace? I’ll be gone for two weeks. It’s perfect.”

“They’ll hunt me down, they always do,” Brian sighed.

Wes was excited; this was real cloak and dagger stuff. “I tell you what. Send the jet to New York and you stay here. That’s how they find you, you know? You leave a trail of jets, hotels and limos everywhere you go,” Wes shrugged. “Don’t you drive anymore?”

Brian shook his head. His security company wouldn’t let him drive himself anywhere. Wes was right, he made himself a target.

“Oh and the platinum cards are a dead giveaway, try using cash,” Wes suggested.

Brian laughed. “I haven’t seen any cash for years.”

“I told you, you stand out all the time,” Wes laughed.

“What would you suggest?” Brian laughed.

“There’s a machine here, give me five thousand in cash.”

Brian went to the machine and took out the money. He handed it to Wes. “Now what?”

“Now we go shopping,” Wes smiled.

They walked out the front and sure enough there was a reporter leaning against his car. Brian rolled his eyes.

Wes winked. “It’s okay,’ he whispered.

The reporter started snapping and Brian put his hand up as usual. He was good at it now; there hadn’t been a clear photograph of his face in years.

Wes yelled at Brian. “We don’t have time for this, you’ll miss your flight, get in,” Wes ordered.

They jumped in the car and drove off. Brian looked back and could see the reporter on his cell.

Brian laughed. “He thinks we’re going to the airport.”

“Brilliant deduction Watson,” Wes laughed. “Tell them to fire up the jet.” He lowered the dividing window. “George, do you feel like a trip to New York?”

“Of course, sir.”

“We have to make a few stops,” Wes laughed. “George, I want a mid market car yard.”

“What are you up to, Wes Taylor?” Brian frowned.

“You’ll see,” Wes smiled.

“Stop around the corner, George. I’ll be back,” Wes smiled and jumped out of the car. He went back to the yard and bought an old MG. He paid cash for it and gave his name as Travis Baylor. It was amazing how fast you could do a deal in a place like that with cash, Wes thought. In twenty minutes, he was driving out of the lot. He pulled the car around the corner and parked in front of the limo.

“What’s that,” Brian gasped.

“That’s your new car, Travis,” Wes smiled.

“You can’t be serious; you want me to drive that?”

“Are you afraid?” Wes laughed.

Brian looked at the car again. “Frankly, yes.”

“Then I’ll drive,” Wes grumbled. “Now, jewellery off, jacket off, give me your wallet and give George your briefcase and your cell. Let’s go.” Wes turned to George. “George, you are going to pretend to be Mr. Kinney. Call past the office and get someone to drive for you.”

“Hang on, George," Brian suggested. "Take your brother and have two weeks in New York on me. He gave George his Amex and his jacket. Leave the car at the hotel if you go out and I’ll reimburse you for any out of pocket expenses when you get back, use the card at the hotel. I don’t want anyone tracing where I am. As far as the world is concerned, I’m hold up in the hotel,” Brian smiled. “You have my cell; if anyone wants me say I’m not taking calls.”

George looked rattled at the subterfuge but did as he was told.

Wes and Brian jumped into the MG and drove off.

“This is the most fun I’ve had in years,” Brian laughed.

“Wait till I introduce you to the joys of discount shopping,” Wes laughed. “Thousand dollar loafers are a dead giveaway too.

Brian frowned. Wes was starting to frighten him again.

They parked in the parking area of a mall and walked inside. The only time Brian had ever been to a mall was when they built one and he had to attend the opening ceremony. Wes grabbed his hand and they went into a department store. Wes pushed the trolley because Brian refused.

“And you call me a snob,” Wes laughed.

Brian frowned again.

Wes put a soft backpack and a duffle bag in the trolley.

“What are they for,” Brian asked.

“Well you need luggage, don’t you?”

“You’re not serious,” Brian gasped. “You are serious, fuck.” Brian could see this was going to get worse.

Wes made Brian try on cheap runners and then added two pair to their trolley. Five pairs of revolting discount underwear and the same number of white no name gym socks had Brian wanting to flee. Wes continued to add to Brian’s new wardrobe, five tee shirts that were sold in packets, two pair of sweats, a pair of shorts and one pair of jeans off the rack. “Two more things,” Wes smiled. Swimmers and then he picked up a perfectly revolting zipper fronted jumper that boasted it was made out of Coca Cola bottles. “They are supposed to be really warm,” Wes laughed. “The label says it will dry overnight.”

“You expect me to do laundry?” Brian gasped.

Wes laughed. “No, Jacob will organize that for you. You better try this stuff on. If it doesn’t fit, you can’t run around my place naked with Justin at home. Let’s find the change room?”

“How do you know so much about these places?”

“I used to go with Travis in college.” Wes laughed. “Here it is.”

The sales assistant stopped them. “Only five items in the change room at a time,” she said.

“Pardon?” Brian said politely.

“Can’t you read?” She pointed to a sign on the wall and repeated. “Only five items in the change room at a time.”

“But we have nine,” Brian said.

“So you can only take five in and you’ll have to come out and get the rest,” she said rudely.

“That is a ridiculous rule,” Brian exclaimed. “I’m the customer.”

“I don’t care if you’re the President, only five items in the change room at a time,” she growled.

“Why is there a stupid rule like that?” Brian continued to fight with her.

“Do you know how much we lose every year to shoplifters?” She glared at him.

Brian looked at Wes and then back at the girl again. “You think I would steal this stuff?” he gasped in horror.

Wes decided to stop this or they would never get out of here. “Brian, all the t shirts are the same size, just try one and that will make five items,” Wes suggested. “We need to go.”

Brian took a deep breath and held his five items out for the girl to inspect. She handed him a giant tag with a five on it.

“You give that back when you come out with the clothes,” Wes smiled.

“Of course you do,” Brian rolled his eyes.

Brian’s little argument was starting to draw a crowd. “You are drawing attention to yourself again,” Wes whispered. “Normal people get treated like shit and ignore it.”

“Well, I’m not……”

“Yes you are, remember?” Wes smiled.

“Fine,” Brian snapped. He huffed into the change room and tried on the clothes. Ten minutes later he came out and gave the girl back her giant five then threw the clothes into the trolley.

“Did they fit?”

“Do you care?” Brian growled.

Wes took that as a yes. They stood in the long queue to pay. Brian was about to say something but saw Wes glare at him and decided against it. They paid and when they were outside, Brian growled again. “Don’t you ever take me to a place like that ever again.”

“If you ever want to disappear again, you’ll already have the gear,” Wes laughed. Watching Brian squirm this afternoon was worth the two meetings he blew off. He was having the time of his life.

“When they got back to the car, Wes took everything out of the wrappers and cut off the tags. He kept aside the jeans and one Tee and a pair of socks and briefs. He took the runners out of the boxes, put one pair into the backpack with the clothes he’d kept to the side and then stuffed the rest into the duffle bag. He handed Brian the back pack. “Hold this,” he ordered. Wes threw away all the packaging in the nearest receptacle and threw the duffle bag in the trunk. “Let’s go.” They climbed back into the car and Wes made for the nearest gas station. He pulled in, filled the car with gas and told Brian to change in the toilets. Wes handed Brian a fifty. “Pay for the gas on your way out,” he laughed.

Ten minutes later, Brian came out dressed in his new clothes. “I bought these to complete my ensemble,” he laughed. He held up a pair of sunglasses and a baseball cap.

Wes smiled. “How much were they?”

“Five bucks each, of course. I couldn’t have them laughing at what I was wearing.” he frowned.

“Good thinking,” Wes smiled. “Now try and cast your memory back old man. If you are going to be Travis then you’ll have to behave like Travis.”

Now Brian was scared. He loved Travis, he did but…….

“Let’s find you a room for tonight.”

“Why can’t I stay at your place?” Brian complained.

“I don’t leave until eleven tomorrow so you shouldn’t arrive till after that.”

“Fine,” Brian huffed. “Just drop me at a hotel.”

Wes pulled up at a motor inn.

Brian looked at him in horror. “You want me to stay here?”

“Well you can’t go anywhere you’ll be recognized, you are in New York, remember?”

Brian took a deep breath. “Fine, I’ll go to sleep and I’ll try not to notice. I just want a bath and some dinner,” Brian sighed.

Wes gave him the three hundred and twenty dollars he had left and Brian paid for his room.

“I’ll leave you to it,” Wes smiled. “Get to my place about one will probably be better. My flight will be in at midday so Justin can ring me then.”

“You aren’t telling him that I’m coming?”

“You are an old friend from college; I don’t know you''re coming. If I’m away, why would you be staying with me?”

Brian nodded, made sense.

“Besides you don’t have enough money to stay in a hotel, that’s why you thought you would stay at my place,” Wes laughed.

Brian laughed too. “I’m Travis, I forgot.”

“Well don’t forget again,” Wes smiled. “I’ll see you in two weeks. Relax and enjoy the break.”

“I will, thanks, Wes,” Brian hugged him.

“Listen; make sure you leave the backpack with your real clothes in the trunk.”

Brian nodded.

Wes grabbed a cab and Brian took his duffle bag up to the room with him. He looked around and couldn’t find the Room Service menu. He rang the front desk and was told they didn’t do Room Service but there was a pizza shop around the corner who delivered. They gave him the number. Brian wasn’t surprised at all when he discovered there was no tub. It really sucked to be poor, no wonder they were so fucking miserable. He showered quickly because he saw a roach and waited for his pizza to arrive. It came, he ate and as he expected, it was every bit as good as the rest of his day had been. Brian spent the night in the TV chair because he didn’t like the look of the sheets. When was this torture going to end? At four in the morning, the fire alarm went off so Brian slept, what was left of the night, in his car.

“Master Justin, there is a Travis Baylor to see Master Wesley,” Jacob announced.

Justin looked up from his work. “Tell him Wes is out of town and won’t be back for two weeks to come back then.”

“He said Master Wesley told him he can stay here.”

“What? This isn’t a hotel,” Justin grumbled. “Tell him to find a hotel.”

“He doesn’t have the money to stay in a hotel, sir.” Wes had told Jacob the reason Brian was here and asked for Jacob to take care of him.

Justin dialed Wes’ cell. “Wes, some guy called Travis Baylor has turned up and expects to stay here,” he grumbled.

“Oh, Jus, Travis was one of my room mates in college. There were three of us and we were the three musketeers. How long can he stay?”

“Why does he have to stay here if you aren’t here, can’t he get a hotel?” Justin objected.

“Jus, he was there on a scholarship, I don’t know what he’s been up to lately but Travis never had any money.” Wes waited for Justin to blow his top.

“So, I am supposed to let some vagrant stay here, for old time’s sake. No way.”

“Justin, don’t be an ass, Mom used to like Travis.”

“He’s stayed here before?” Justin gasped.

“I told you, we went to college together,” Wes persisted.

“Well, is he honest, do I have to watch him?”

“Don’t be ridiculous,” Wes snapped. “Travis is my guest. If you don’t want to talk to him, ignore him but he’s free to do whatever he wants until I come home. I love Travis, he’s like a brother.”

“Great, your brother the vagrant who can’t afford a hotel,” Justin grumbled.

“Jus, I told you, don’t be an ass, he’s quiet; you won’t even know he’s there. Tell him I’ll see him in two weeks.”

Justin put down the phone.

“What should I tell him, Master Justin?” Jacob asked.

“Get him a room ready and I’ll talk to him,” Justin sighed. He went out of his office looking for one of the Muscateers and realized Jacob had left Travis outside on the stoop.. Justin opened the door and felt his breath catch. I’m glad he’s finally settling down and if you love him that’s all that matters. I’ll be home in a week. I love you honey.” Jennifer tried to sound calm but warning bells were ringing in her head.

“I love you too, Mom.” Justin put down the phone and sat. Why had Travis told him Brian’s story as his own? It all was so clear now. It was happening to him again. His husband had died, what a way to reel him in. Justin knew by the car and the clothes that Travis didn’t have two dimes to rub together when he arrived but now Travis had him and Justin had told him he wanted them to be together so now Travis had a home too. How long would it be before he needed money? Not again, he couldn’t do this again. Justin put his head in his hands and cried.

Justin was taking a long time, Brian thought. He wandered into the house to find him.

“Jacob, have you seen Justin?”

“He left, sir, He didn’t say when he would be back.”

“Left? To go where?” Brian said surprised.

“He didn’t say, sir,” Jacob frowned. “He didn’t look very happy, sir. He left after he talked with Mrs. Taylor.”

Brian wondered what had happened. Something must be wrong with Jennifer. “Get me Mrs. Taylor on the phone, Jacob.”

“It may take some time, sir, she is off cruising.”

“I don’t care, just reach her,” Brian ordered. He went into the bar and poured himself a drink. What was going on?

“Mrs. Taylor is holding for you sir,” Jacob smiled, twenty minutes later.

“Jennifer, this is Brian Kinney.”

“Oh Brian, I’ve been trying to reach Wes. I just spoke to Justin and Travis is at the house. Justin says he’s in love with him, “Jennifer sounded frantic.

“It’s okay Jenn,” Brian tried to reassure her,

“No, it isn’t Brian. Travis told Justin he was married to Patrick. He’s involved in some sort of scam again and I’m worried that he will drag Justin into it. Justin has been hurt too much already and if he really loves Travis and Travis just needs the money, Justin will be devastated. I told Justin that it was you who was married to Patrick, not Travis.”

Brian sighed. That solved the mystery of why Justin had taken off. What an idiot he was? “This is my fault, Jenn, don’t worry, Travis is Antarctica," he sighed. "I needed a break and was sick of hiding from the press, so, I hid at your house and said I was Travis. I didn’t know I would fall in love with Justin.”

“You’re in love with Justin?” she gasped.

“Yeah, though he may not be in love with me anymore,” Brian sighed.

“Brian, I’m so sorry, I didn’t know. I thought I was warning Justin about Travis.”

“Don’t worry, Jenn, I’ll sort it out. When do you come back?”

“Another week or do you think I should fly back sooner?” she asked.

“No, stay, It’ll be fine.” Brian was saying the words but he didn’t believe it. Justin thought he was Travis and even when he found Justin, he would still have to tell him he was someone else. Anyway Brian looked at it, he’d lied. He dialed Wes. “Can you come back today?”

“Sure what’s wrong?”

“Your Mom told Justin that Travis… well you know, that Travis is Travis and he flipped.”

“What do you mean, flipped?”

“He’s taken off and I don’t know where he is,” Brian sighed.

“Start again, what did he flip about?” Wes tried to work out what was happening.

“He thinks Travis told him the story of my life as his own to make him fall in love with him and take his money.”

“Fuck,” Wes gasped.

“We had a moment, I told him about Patrick and he must have said something to your Mom. She told him that Travis wasn’t married to Patrick, it was Brian and now he thinks I’ve been lying to him to steal his money.”

Wes started to laugh.

“It isn’t funny, Wes. He must be really hurt,” Brian grumbled.

Wes sighed. “I know, I’m sorry but I bet you’ve never been accused of being a gold digger before?”

“Not in this lifetime,” Brian sighed. “Until now, that is. I don’t even know where to start looking for him.”

Wes thought for a moment. “He’ll be at work in my office. It used to be my Dad’s office, he always goes there when he wants to think. I’ll ring security and tell them to let you in. I’m pretty sure, he’ll be there. I’ll come back as soon as I can get a flight.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll send the jet for you. The gig is up anyway. George will call you with the time.”

“Thanks Brian.”

Brian dialed his own cell. “George, it’s me. I want you to pick up Mr. Taylor in Dallas and then come back. His cell number is in my phone, let him know what time. Thanks George, how was New York? Yeah, I knew they would be.” Brian sighed. “Call me when you get in and I’ll tell you where I am.” Brian put down the phone and remembered that he didn’t have a cell. Fuck, it just got better and better. He grabbed his keys and drove down to Justin’s office. Security let him up in the elevator and unlocked Wes’ door. Sure enough, Justin was sitting on the floor in the middle of the office. Brian could see he’d been crying. “Hey,” Brian smiled.

Justin looked up and didn’t respond.

“You aren’t talking to me now?” Brian asked.

“No.”

“I didn’t mean to lie to you Justin,” Brian sighed.

“Was it all lies?”

“No,” Brian said quickly.

“How much do you need?” Justin stood up and went behind Wes’ desk.

“What?”

“How much do you need?” He pulled out a cheque book and poised to write.

“I don’t want your money,” Brian gasped.

Justin rolled his eyes.

“I love you,” Brian smiled.

Justin flew at him and started hitting him. “Don’t say that. I don’t love you; I couldn’t love anyone like you.”

Brian stood like a statue and allowed Justin to beat his chest with his fists until he collapsed crying. Brian wrapped his arms around him and held him. “I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you sooner. It didn’t matter in the beginning and then when I fell in love with you, I didn’t remember you didn’t know. I was so happy that you loved me, I didn’t think. Justin, I….I just wanted you inside me because I love you.”

“Did you think telling me about your dead husband would cinch the deal?” Justin spat. He pulled away from Brian and stormed back to the desk. He wrote out the check and tore it out of the book then threw the check at Brian. “Take the money, you earned it. Just consider it payment for services rendered; I would pay any whore for their time.”

Brian stood staring at Justin stunned. He knew Justin would be angry but saying that he would use Patrick that way and calling him a whore just hurt too much. He’d only given himself to Justin because he loved him. Brian turned and walked out. Justin yelled after him. “Don’t forget your money, you earned it.” He collapsed on the floor and cried again.

As Brian rode down in the elevator, he blinked back the tears. He walked out into the street and hailed a cab. “Kinney Corp.”

The driver took Brian to his office. There were press camped out everywhere.

“Drive into the garage,” he instructed.

The security guard stopped them at the entrance, “Oh, Mr. Kinney. I wasn’t expecting you in a taxi, I’m sorry, sir.” He allowed the cab through.

“No problem,” Brian smiled.

At the next check point, the cab was stopped again. This time, Brian got out and the guard drove Brian the rest of the way. Brian went up in the lift and when it arrived at his floor, he put his key in the lock on the elevator and locked down the floor. He didn’t want to see or talk to anyone.

Wes arrived back a little after four. George dropped him at his place. Brian’s car wasn’t there, where was he? When Wes went inside, Jacob told him that Justin was back and in his room. Wes went upstairs to see what was going on. He knocked on Justin’s door but got no answer. He tried to open it but it was locked. Wes pulled out his keys and unlocked the door. Justin was lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling. His face was red and puffy and looked like he’d been crying for hours. Wes sat down beside him and took his hand. “What’s up?”

“I don’t feel like talking, Wes.”

“Is Brian here?”

“I haven’t seen him.”

“The car isn’t here,” Wes said.

“That asshole left it in front of our building: I don’t know where he is either. He’ll be back, all his stuff is here,” Justin growled.

“Justin, he didn’t mean to lie to you.”

“You knew?” Justin gasped.

“Brian talked to Mom and he figured it out. She told him she talked to you.”

“How can you both have a friend like that?” Justin yelled at Wes. “I loved him, Wes and he just wanted the money. What is it about me?”

“Jus, what are you talking about? Brian doesn’t need your money,” Wes stammered.

“I’m not talking about Brian, I’m talking about Travis,” Justin spat.

“Travis was here? When?”

“For the last two weeks, you told me to let him stay,” Justin growled.

“Justin, it was Brian who was here, not Travis. Travis is in Antarctica.”

Justin stared at Wes. “I don’t what the fuck you are talking about,” he growled.

Wes sighed. What a bloody mess. “Brian was looking for a place to hide out. The press wouldn’t leave him alone. He never really got over Patrick dying and he needed a break. I came up with a plan to get the press off his back and he came here posing as Travis so they wouldn’t know where he was. I never expected that the two of you would get involved. Only he and I knew where he was. His security company has been searching for him for days. I didn’t want the press getting wind of it. We didn’t tell anyone. We even bought that shitbox he was driving in Travis’ name to throw them off. Brian rang me a week ago and I could tell he was in love with you. Then he rang me earlier and told me you spoke to Mom. I told him where to find you, did you see him?”

Oh god, thought Justin.

“Did you talk to him, Jus? He loves you. Hang on, why is his car at work?”

“It was there when I left,” Justin said softly.

“Justin, stop and tell me what happened? Did you see him? Did he explain?” Wes was starting to worry now. Justin didn’t know what he was talking about.

“He told me he loved me and I didn’t believe him,” Justin shook his head. He’d been such a fool.

“What happened?” Wes sighed.

“I threw a check at him.”

“Why?” Wes had no idea what was going on. “Why would you throw a check at Brian?

“He told me he didn’t want my money,” Justin sobbed.

“Justin, Brian has more money than God. He’s one of the richest men in the world.”

Justin tried to remember what they talked about. “He said he was sorry and he loved me and I didn’t believe him, Wes. I hit him over and over and then he held me and said he was so happy that I loved him that he didn’t think.”

Wes laughed. “That’s Brian; he’s so used to everyone knowing who he is. So when is he coming back. The press will be all over him. They know he’s been missing for a week.”

“Wes, I thought he was Travis. I threw a check at him and told him it was for services rendered.”

“Oh Jus,” Wes rubbed his forehead.

“I thought he was getting me fuck him to get his hands on the money. I paid him like a hustler. I didn't understand why he didn’t pick up the check when he left. I thought it was all about the money,” Justin sighed.

“Brian let you fuck him?” Wes gasped.

“He never fucked me, I always fucked him. Wes, I accused him of telling me about Patrick to cinch the deal. I called him a whore.”

Wes shook his head. Brian must be devastated. “I need a drink.” Wes stood up and went downstairs. He poured a double and threw it back. He noticed Justin had followed him and poured him one too. “The only person who has ever fucked Brian was Patrick.”

“Wes, he must love me. He was giving himself to me because he loved me,” Justin began to cry. “I called him a whore,” he sobbed.

“You said he left the car outside the building.”

Justin nodded.

He must have hailed a cab. Wes grabbed the phone. There was no answer at the office. He tried the house. “Margareet, its Wes Taylor, is Brian home. If you see him tell him I need to see him, thanks.” He dialed again but there was no answer. Wes looked at Justin. “He didn’t go home; he must be at the office and not picking up.” Wes rang security. It’s Wes Taylor, is Mr. Kinney in the building? I see, okay……. Jeff, I heard, I’ll come down. I have a key. Thirty minutes.” Wes looked at Justin and frowned. “Brian has turned off his elevator and they can’t reach him. I just spoke to the head of Security, they are frantic down there. He hasn’t done that since Patrick died. I have to get down there.”

“I’ll come with you.”

“No.”

“I love him, Wes.”

“Jus, he won’t see you,” Wes sighed. “I’ll be back as fast as I can.”

“I’m coming,” Justin said defiantly.

“Jus, that place is like Fort Knox. If Brian says you can’t get in, you can’t get in. Let me talk to him. I’ll try and fix it,” Wes sighed.

“He hates me, doesn’t he?”

“I don’t know, Jus. No one has probably ever thrown money at him and called him a whore before. Particularly someone he was letting fuck him because he loved them. You even threw Patrick at him. It must have been so hard for him to tell you in the first place about Patrick. Brian loved him so much, I thought he wasn’t gonna make it when Patrick died. I have to go,” Wes frowned.

Justin remembered how Brian had sobbed for hours when he told him, oh god, Brian would never forgive him.

Wes put his key in the elevator and pressed the call button. The elevator began to move.

Jeff hugged him. “Thank god, Wes. We didn’t know what we were going to do.”

“I made him get me a key after Patrick died and he locked himself up there the last time,” Wes smiled. “I’ll go up and talk to him.”

Jeff nodded. He wondered what was going on.

Wes went up in the elevator and used his key to access Brian’s floor. As the door opened, he gasped. The place was completely torn up. There was glass everywhere. He looked around and saw Brian sitting on the only not upturned sofa. Wes walked over and sat beside him. Brian was sitting quietly, staring into space. He put his arms around Brian and held him. “Are you okay?”

Brian shook his head.

“He didn’t mean it; Brian, he still thought you were Travis.”

“But I told him I loved him.”

“He thought you were Travis and trying to save your ass. He loves you.”

“He couldn’t and say what he said. Wes you don’t understand….” Brian sobbed.

“You let him fuck you and he called you a whore,” Wes sighed. “He thought you were Travis.”

“It doesn’t matter who he thought I was; he said it to me.”

“Brian, he thought Travis had told him your story to gain his trust and he felt betrayed. He didn’t know it was real. He thought you lied to him to use him.” Wes shook his head. This was a mess. “I just told him the truth and he’s a wreck, he still loves you.”

“It doesn’t matter anymore,” Brian sighed.

“Brian, you wouldn’t have let him fuck you if you didn’t love him. I know you. You love him. Don’t be idiot and throw this away. Patrick wanted you to be happy, please Brian.”

“Where is he?” Brian said softly. “Is he okay?”

“No, he isn’t okay. He’s at the house,” Wes smiled.

“He called me a whore, Wes,” Brian frowned.

“You were always a whore,” Wes laughed.

“Yeah, but it hurt this time. He threw money at me after I let him fuck me,” Brian sighed.

“Get him back, go over there and do the same to him,” Wes smiled.

Brian laughed. “I haven’t even fucked him yet.”

“So I heard. You certainly destroyed this place.” Wes looked around the room.

“Yeah, I was pissed off with your brother.”

“I can see that. You know Jeff is downstairs having a coronary.”

“George said he was pissed when they found I was missing,” Brian sighed.

“I’m sure,” Wes laughed. “How was your holiday?”

“It was great until today,” Brian rolled his eyes.

“Do you still love him?” Wes asked.

“Of course I love him but he’s an asshole,” Brian frowned.

Wes laughed again. “He said the same about you. Come on, let’s go home. I’ll let you drive my car.”

“That car you bought me was a real shitbox and you….” Brian punched Wes in the arm. “You left me in a hotel that should have been condemned.”

Wes laughed and stood up. “What are you whining about? You had an adventure. You got to be someone else for a while, you even got fucked, stop complaining,” Wes rolled his eyes. “I didn’t even know Justin could fuck anyone.” Wes smiled. “How was it?”

“Let’s go home,” Brian smiled.
